I grew up by the sea in Cagliari, Sardinia. I spent most of my career working in advertising in Turin and Cagliari as a creative director. The sea has always been part of me and always will be.
What do you do in your life in London?
I recently graduated with a Master in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins and have been working in a shop to pay my studies. In the last few years there has been little time for anything else.
What is the reason to leave Italy and come to London?
I wanted to move from the world of advertising and focus more on art and London is one of the best place for it.
What were your best and worst experiences in London.
If I ever had a bad experience I’ve forgotten it. The best experience is still to come, just in a couple of weeks when I will be a dad.
I asked you to choose a place in London that you like or you are tied to, what was your choice and why you made it?
I choose my studio because this is the place where the magic happens. When I shut the door, play some Miles Davies on the laptop and start creating, I loose myself in my artwork and feel like I am in another dimension.
During your early times in London, did you have any problem?
For a series of events, I found myself alone and living above a pub. Then I decided it was time to change strategy and fully immerse myself in my dreams. I started making new pieces and exhibiting and eventually enrolled to university for a degree in fine art first and finally the master.
What do you think about this project?
I am a visual person and like the idea of telling stories through images.
How do you think you could support and promote Italian culture?
Creativity has always been an important part of Italian’s culture with outstanding professionals in fashion and industrial design to name a few. I try be part of it with my little contribution. On a more personal level, I like to promote a traditional Italian’s lifestyle in regards to good food, healthy living and respect for the environment.
